Cell sorting is the process of separating different cell types based on their mechanical properties, especially the mutual adhesion. Alternative differential adhesion between two cell types are known to generate distinct patterns of cell arrangements due to cell sorting. Following figure shows different patterns due to different possible adhesion between two particle types A (red) and B (blue). By implementing differential adhesion mechanism in Biocellion, we are able to do cell sorting.
